Things I'm Loving Tuesday 8.11

Hello lovely ladies!! As always, I’m so excited for this week’s Things I’m Loving Tuesday! I’m featuring some great things that you should definitely give a try and let me know when you do.

Ipsy Bag
The first thing I am featuring is my monthly Ipsy bag! If you’ve never heard of Ipsy, let me fill you in :) Ipsy is a monthly subscription for a glam bag mailed directly to your door each month! For only $10, you get 4-5 beauty products tailored to your needs and desires all in a really cute bag. I love when I get mine because every month I seem to forget about it until it shows up in my mailbox and totally makes my day! You start your subscription by taking a quick beauty quiz about your skin tone, hair and eye color, style, and brands/products you currently love. My favorite part of Ipsy is that I get product from some of my favorite brands such as NYX, Essie, The Balm, Benefit, Urban Decay, Too Faced, and sooo many more! Each month the bags have a different theme to them and there are coordinating YouTube videos created to show you tutorials using the products from that month. I also love that the bags are perfect to re-use when packing for a trip for jewelry or bobby pins! To give you an idea of some of the awesome products I’ve received in the past few months, I’ll name off a few.

-NYX Butter Lipstick
-The Balm eye shadow
-Too Faced Melted Liquefied Longwear Lipstick
-Bastiste Dry Shampoo
-Amie Moisturizer
-IT Cosmetics Brow Pencil
-Make-up Brushes
-Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
-Tarte Waterproof Bronzer

After my bag comes each month, I go online and review each product so that Ipsy can better customize my bag for the following month based on what I liked and disliked! If you want to see a post solely about what I get in my Ipsy bag each month, let me know! Also, if you want to know more about receiving an Ipsy glam bag each month, click here! You won’t be disappointed!
Raspberry and White Chocolate Chai Latte
If you're anything like me, you're already dreaming of fall, cooler weather, and the coveted Pumpkin Spice Latte! I love a PSL as much as the next basic white girl but there is also another drink that I love ordering until pumpkin everything takes over. This is a drink that I “created” in high school when one of my best friends worked in a coffee shop and I haven’t stopped drinking it yet! I will give a disclaimer and say that, for whatever reason, Starbucks does not do this drink justice so try it out at a local coffee shop instead! Here’s what I ask for!

A frozen, blended chai latte with skim milk with added raspberry and white chocolate. YUM!

This drink is perfect for me because I’m not big on coffee but it has enough sugar to give me a slight rush in the middle of my day :) I also don’t like most teas but chai is very subtle and refreshing. I think this drink tastes best during the early fall months because it’ll still cool you down while it’s hot outside. If you’re not a fan of raspberry, I would substitute it for caramel (and don't forget to add whip cream on top)! I promise either way it’ll taste amazing. Be sure to let me know if you try this favorite of mine!

Ankle Pants from Target
Since graduation, I have been trying to build my “big girl” wardrobe for when I got a job. Well, now that I officially have a job, I’m even more obsessed with finding trendy, affordable, and professional clothes. The one hardest item that I dread trying to find is work pants. Being 5’2, it can be very difficult to find pants that are the right length. At my internship in college, I had to wear flats every day so I especially found it hard to find pants that didn’t drag the floor when I wasn’t in heels. However, I struck gold when I found these $28 pants at Target! I would honestly suggest these pants to anyone that is petite and has a hard time finding the perfect pant length for flats. Though they are ankle-length on the models, they are a little longer on me. I will occasionally roll mine twice to give a capri effect and they look great either way! I have about 6 pairs in different colors that I rotate in with my work dresses/skirts. These pants are very similar to the Pixie Pants from Old Navy, however, I have yet to actually try on a pair of the Pixie Pants that fit me correctly and look good with my body type the way the ones from Target do. Every year, the design of these pants keeps getting better and I am totally in love with the ones out this season. A trip to target is definitely in my future before my first day of work :)

Bottom Lash Mascara
I know some of you are thinking “really, you need a different mascara for bottom lashes?” And the answer is YES, I do! Let me tell you why! I, also, thought it was ridiculous to have a separate tube of mascara simply for my bottom lashes until (of course) I watched Jaclyn Hill do it in one of her YouTube videos. Usually, I love mascaras that focus on volumizing my top lashes, however, that can mean that the brush is thicker and wider making it really difficult and really messy to use on my bottom lashes. Though I don’t use the same bottom lash mascara Jaclyn does, I LOVE using Maybelline Volum’Express The Falsies Big Eyes Mascara in very black. This mascara has two wands designated for top and bottom lashes. I only use the bottom wand as the top is definitely not my favorite. I'm obsessed with using this specific mascara because the brush is so tiny and the bristles are evenly spaced so that it is easy to coat every single bottom lash easily without any clumping. This $8 mascara stays on all day with little to no fallout. That is incredible in my book because that can be rare with drugstore mascara! If you've never worn mascara on your bottom lashes, I encourage to give this one a try! This special touch will really tie together your eye makeup and give your entire look an extra pop.

*If you tend to get mascara more on your skin than your lashes (like I do), a little tip is to let the product completely dry for a few minutes then take a clean q-tip and wipe away the misplaced product! This works every time :)

Have a lovely rest of the week!!

  1. We all know the importance of Adobe Photoshop. There is no doubt that Adobe Photoshop is one of the best photo retouching and editing software. If you are looking for the best Photoshop alternative , then Affinity Photo is the best choice for you. Affinity Photo is fully compatible with Photoshop and other file formats. The app is mostly used by photographers and designers and is less expensive than Photoshop.
